Insights into carbon-based materials for catalytic dehydrogenation of low-carbon alkanes and ethylbenzene

摘要: Direct dehydrogenation with high selectivity and oxidative dehydrogenation with low thermal limit has been regarded as promising methods to solve the increasing demands of light olefins and styrene. Metal-based catalysts have shown remarkable performance for these reactions, such as Pt, CrOx, Co, ZrOx, Zn and V. Compared with metal-based catalysts, carbon materials with stable structure, rich pore texture and large surface area, are ideal platforms as the catalysts and the supports for dehydrogenation reactions. In this review, carbon materials applied in direct dehydrogenation and oxidative dehydrogenation reactions including ordered mesoporous carbon, carbon nanodiamond, carbon nanotubes, graphene and activated carbon, are summarized. A general introduction to the dehydrogenation mechanism and active sites of carbon catalysts is briefly presented to provide a deep understanding of the carbon-based materials used in dehydrogenation reactions. The unique structure of each carbon material is presented, and the diversified synthesis methods of carbon catalysts are clarified. The approaches for promoting the catalytic activity of carbon catalysts are elaborated with respect to preparation method optimization, suitable structure design and heteroatom doping. The regeneration mechanism of carbon-based catalysts is discussed for providing guidance on catalytic performance enhancement. In addition, carbon materials as the support of metal-based catalysts contribute to exploiting the excellent catalytic performance of catalysts due to superior structural characteristics. In the end, the challenges in current research and strategies for future improvements are proposed.

Formic acid dehydrogenation reaction on high-performance PdAu alloy nanoparticles prepared by the eco-friendly

摘要: Dehydrogenation of formic acid (FA) is considered to be an effective solution for efficient storage and transport of hydrogen. For decades, highly effective catalysts for this purpose have been widely investigated, but numerous challenges remain. Herein, the PdxAu1−x (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1) alloys over the whole composition range were successfully prepared and used to catalyze FA hydrogen production efficiently near room temperature. Small PdAu nanoparticles (5–10 nm) were well-dispersed and supported on the activated carbon to form PdAu solid solution alloys via the eco-friendly slow synthesis methodology. The physicochemical properties of the PdAu alloys were comprehensively studied by utilizing various measurement methods, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption–desorption, high angle annular dark field-scanning transmission electron microscope (HAADF-STEM), X-ray photoelectrons spectroscopy (XPS). Notably, owing to the strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) and electron transfer between active metal Au and Pd, the Pd0.5Au0.5 obtained exhibits a turnover frequency (TOF) value of up to 1648 h−1 (313 K, nPd+Au/nFA = 0.01, nHCOOH/nHCOONa = 1:3) with a high activity, selectivity, and reusability in the FA dehydrogenation.

Effects of ancillary ligands in acceptorless benzyl alcohol dehydrogenation mediated by phosphine-free

摘要: Acceptorless alcohol dehydrogenation stands out as one of the most promising strategies in hydrogen storage technologies. Among various catalytic systems for this reaction, cost-effective molecular catalysts using phosphine-free ligands have gained considerable attention. However, the central challenge for using non-precious metals is to overcome the propensity of reacting by one-electron pathway. Herein, we synthesized a phosphine-free η5-C5Me5-Co complex by using the metal–ligand cooperative strategy and compared its activity with analogous catalysts toward acceptorless alcohol dehydrogenation. The catalyst showed excellent performance with a turnover number of 130.4 and a selectivity close to 100%. The improved performance among the class of η5-C5Me5-Co complexes could be attributed to the more accessible Co center and its cooperation with the redox-active ligand. To further study the systematic structure-activity relationship, we investigated the electronic structures of η5-C5Me5-Co complexes by a set of characterizations. The results showed that the redox-active ligand has a significant influence on the η5-C5Me5-Co moiety. In the meantime, the proximal O/OH group is beneficial for shuttling protons. For the catalytic cycle, two dehydrogenation scenarios were interrogated through density functional theory, and the result suggested that the outer-sphere pathway was preferred. The formation of a dihydrogen complex was the rate-determining step with a ΔG value of 16.9 kcal∙mol‒1. The electron population demonstrated that the η5-C5Me5 ligand played a key role in stabilizing transition states during dehydrogenation steps. This work identified the roles of vital ligand components to boost catalytic performance and offered rationales for designing metal–ligand cooperative nonprecious metal complexes.

Heating energy savings potential from retrofitting old apartments with an advanced double-skin façade

摘要: Apartments account for over 60% of total residential buildings and consume a significant portion of primary energy in South Korea. Various energy efficiency measures have been implemented for both new apartment constructions and existing apartment retrofits. Old apartment structures have poor thermal performances, resulting in a high energy consumption. The South Korean government initiated retrofitting projects to improve the energy efficiency in old apartments. Apartment owners typically replace old windows with high-performance windows; however, there is still a demand for better and more innovative retrofit methods for a highly improved energy efficiency. This paper proposes an advanced double-skin façade (DSF) system to replace existing balcony windows in old apartments. Considering the cold climate conditions of Seoul, South Korea, it mainly discusses heating energy savings. Three case models were developed: Base-Case with existing apartment, Case-1 with typical retrofitting, and Case-2 with the proposed DSF system. The EnergyPlus simulation program was used to develop simulation models for a floor radiant heating system. A typical gas boiler was selected for low-temperature radiant system modeling. The air flow network method was used to model the proposed DSF system. Five heating months, i.e., November to March, and one representative day, i.e., January 24, were selected for detailed analysis. The main heat loss areas consist of windows, walls, and infiltration. The results reveal that the apartment with the DSF retrofit saves 38.8% on the annual heating energy compared to the Base-Case and 35.2% compared to Case-1.

stabilization effect of Al2O3 on unconventional Pb/SiO2 catalyst for propane dehydrogenation

摘要: Similar to Sn, Pb located at the same group (IVA) in the periodic table of elements, can also catalyze propane dehydrogenation to propene, while a fast deactivation can be observed. To enhance the stability, the traditional carrier Al2O3 with a small amount, was introduced into Pb/SiO2 catalyst in this study. It has been proved that Al2O3 can inhibit the reduction of PbO, and weaken the agglomeration and loss of Pb species due to its enhanced interaction with Pb species. As a result, 3Al15Pb/SiO2 catalyst exhibits a much higher stability up to more than 150 h. In addition, a simple schematic diagram of the change of surface species on the catalyst surface after Al2O3 addition was also proposed.

摘要: 概要:卫星舱布局问题是一种带性能约束的三维布局优化问题,已经被证明具有NP难度。通过采用拟物策略和罚函数方法,我们将该问题转化为一个不带约束的优化问题。势能曲面变平法(energy landscape paving, ELP)是一个经典的基于蒙特卡洛的全局优化算法,已被成功应用于许多优化问题。ELP能够通过在复杂的势能曲面随机行走来搜索低能构形。然而,当ELP陷入又窄又深的势能曲面山谷时,它很难逃离。通过提出ELP方法中直方图函数的一种新的更新机制,我们获得了一种改进的势能曲面变平法。通过将带局部搜索的梯度法融入改进的ELP方法,为卫星舱布局问题提出了一种新的全局搜索方法nELP。本文测试了来自文献的两个有代表性的算例。计算结果显示,nELP是求解带性能约束的卫星舱布局问题的有效算法。

Medical oncology management of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma 2019: a reality check

摘要: In terms of global cancer-related deaths, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has the fourth highest mortality rate. Up until 2017, treatment of advanced HCC was largely limited to sorafenib, an oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor, with little to no success in the development of alternative treatment options. However, in the past two years, there has been an unprecedented increase in both the number and type of treatment options available for HCC. As of 2019, the US FDA has approved four oral tyrosine kinase inhibitors, two immune checkpoint inhibitors, and one anti-angiogenesis antibody for the treatment of HCC. Even with this new variety, systemic treatment of advanced HCC remains largely unsatisfactory, and the median survival rate stands at approximately one year. The expected breakthrough of using immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced HCC did not materialize in 2019. The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors in conjunction with oral tyrosine kinase inhibitors or anti-angiogenesis medications is the current clinical research trend, the results of which are eagerly anticipated. Despite limited progress in survival, HCC research is currently experiencing a period of growth and innovation, and there is hope for significant advances in the treatment of advanced HCC as the field continues to develop.

一种新颖的多小区正交频分多址中继网络资源优化分配算法 Article

摘要: 在蜂窝网络中,用户通过各自的基站相互通信,且通常位于不同的小区内。对于用户来说,基站相当于一个解码转发中继节点。除了这种传统的用户之外,我们认为相互之间需要通信的用户还可以位于同一小区内,由此产生小区内通信。在这种情况下,基站可作为双向中继取代传统的解码转发中继,实现信息交换。多小区正交频分多址网络同时包含了这两种类型的用户。其中,资源优化分配是我们的研究重点。特别地,我们联合优化子载波分配、子载波成对和功率分配,从而最大化加权速率。通过拉格朗日对偶分解近似求解在用户功率固定的情况下基站资源的最优化问题。仿真结果表明,本文提出的策略优于现有的策略。

Structural performance of a façade precast concrete sandwich panel enabled by a bar-type basalt fiber-reinforced

摘要: In this study, a novel diagonally inserted bar-type basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) connector was proposed, aiming to achieve both construction convenience and partially composite behavior in precast concrete sandwich panels (PCSPs). First, pull-out tests were conducted to evaluate the anchoring performance of the connector in concrete after exposure to different temperatures. Thereafter, direct shear tests were conducted to investigate the shear performance of the connector. After the test on the individual performance of the connector, five façade PCSP specimens with the bar-type BFRP connector were fabricated, and the out-of-plane flexural performance was tested under a uniformly distributed load. The investigating parameters included the panel length, opening condition, and boundary condition. The results obtained in this study primarily indicated that 1) the bar-type BFRP connector can achieve a reliable anchorage system in concrete; 2) the bar-type BFRP connector can offer sufficient stiffness and capacity to achieve a partially composite PCSP; 3) the boundary condition of the panel considerably influenced the out-of-plane flexural performance and composite action of the investigated façade PCSP.

SPSSNet: a real-time network for image semantic segmentation

摘要: Although deep neural networks (DNNs) have achieved great success in semantic segmentation tasks, it is still challenging for real-time applications. A large number of feature channels, parameters, and floating-point operations make the network sluggish and computationally heavy, which is not desirable for real-time tasks such as robotics and autonomous driving. Most approaches, however, usually sacrifice spatial resolution to achieve inference speed in real time, resulting in poor performance. In this paper, we propose a light-weight semantic segmentation network (SPSSN), which can efficiently reuse the paramount features from early layers at multiple stages, at different spatial resolutions. SPSSN takes input of full resolution 2048×1024 pixels, uses only 1.42×10 parameters, yields 69.4% mIoU accuracy without pre-training, and obtains an inference speed of 59 frames/s on the Cityscapes dataset. SPSSN can run directly on mobile devices in real time, due to its light-weight architecture. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed network, we compare our results with those of state-of-the-art networks.

豌豆(Pisum sativum var. arvense L.)是世界上重要的豆科作物。豌豆籽粒蛋白质含量很高,并能提高土壤中有效氮的含量。由一种土传卵菌根腐丝囊霉(Aphanomyces euteiches Drechs.)引起的Aphanomyces 根腐病(ARR),在包括加拿大在内的许多地区对豌豆生产构成严重威胁,在潮湿的土壤条件下引起严重的根损伤、萎蔫,造成大幅度减产。在有利于病害发生的条件下,由于病原体卵孢子的寿命长,在豌豆任何生长阶段都可以侵染豌豆植株,传统病害防控措施(如作物轮作和拌种处理)不能完全防治病害的危害。培育部分抗病或耐病豌豆品种可能是分析豌豆中根腐丝囊霉变异性和生理转化性、提高病害防治效果的有效途径。因此,检测抗病数量性状基因座(QTL)对豌豆育种计划至关重要。本文对根腐丝囊霉的致病特点、ARR 防控措施以及部分与抗性相关的QTL 进行了综述。

摘要: 卫星舱布局设计问题属于一种NP困难问题,该问题不仅仅是一种复杂的耦合系统设计问题,也是一种特殊的多目标优化问题。解决该问题最大的难点在于待优化的函数具有大量的由高能势垒分隔开的局部极小值点。Wang-Landau (WL)抽样算法是一种改进的蒙特卡罗方法,目前已成功应用于许多优化问题的求解中。本文采用WL抽样算法求解卫星舱布局优化问题。为了加快全局最优解的搜索速度,每次蒙特卡罗扫描产生新布局时便执行基于梯度法的局部搜索(LS)方法。通过结合WL抽样算法、LS方法和启发式布局更新策略,本文提出了WL-LS混合算法用于求解卫星舱最优布局。此外,为了提高算法计算效率,针对两个物体(如两矩形物体,两圆形物体或者一矩形物体和一圆形物体)之间的干涉深度,本文提出了一种快速准确的计算方法。矩形物体是正交放置的。分别测试了包含51个物体和53个物体的两个算例。在两个算例中,本文所提出的算法均超过了文献中的方法。数值结果表明,WL-LS是一种求解卫星舱布局优化问题的有效算法。

The generalized inverse method for solving compensation movement displacement has been presented.

一种系统性制造3D打印患者匹配式颅颌面重建植入物的方法 Article

通常,在头颈部外科中广泛应用的颅颌面重建植入物都被制造为标准样式。在手术过程中,医生必须手工弯折颅颌面重建植入物以匹配不同患者的骨骼解剖结构。弯曲植入物的过程非常耗时,尤其是对于一些缺乏经验的外科医生来说,很难操作。此外,反复的弯折可能会使得植入物内应力集中,在咀嚼载荷作用下易发生疲劳,最终导致植入物疲劳断裂、螺钉松动、骨吸收等并发症。目前已有一些关于3D打印颅颌面重建患者匹配式植入物的报道,但很少有人考虑到植入物的质量问题。在本文中,我们提出了一种制作颅颌面重建3D打印手术植入物的系统性方法。这一方法包括三个部分的内容:首先,我们基于SolidWorks®软件开发出一个容易使用的设计模块,该模块可帮助外科医生设计手术用颅颌面重建植入物及其辅助工具;设计工程师可以在此基础上进行更详细的设计,并借助有限元模拟来优化设计。接着,制造过程可分为三个步骤进行:第一步检测原材料粉末,第二步设置适当参数进行3D打印,第三步对3D打印产品进行后处理(即热处理和表面处理)以保证植入物的质量和性能。最后,对植入物进行成品检测和消毒后用于颅颌面重建手术中,术后再使用患者信息追踪软件辅助术后康复随访。采用这种方法,目前我们已成功完成了41例手术。3D打印患者匹配式植入物有很多优点,能减少手术时间,加快患者恢复。此外,本文提出的方法也有助于保证植入物的质量安全。
